**After the library of doom made Kaito cough his lungs out, our Kaito Team has decided to go back to the city behind the wall. Kaito's illness has gotten much worse due to his weakened immune system and sleeping outside all the time. But now, here they are. He finds himself staring up at the wall with mixed emotions of relief and dread. How in the hell are they going to sneak in?**

I don't know... I was pretty angry at him for not being around, so maybe I blocked him out. It hurt too much back then.

Sorry, I can't really answer that question. I was too young to understand, and then he died, so I never did. The adults had enough on their plate, so I didn't want to bother them...

Anyway, that was a long time ago. I got over my anger already.

Nah, I don't mind. We're friends, so you have a right to know about my past. I just can't remember it well.

Do you feel sad when you can't remember?

[Because he'd be so sad if he forgot his previous Master.]

These days, sort of. Like I said, I was happy to forget before, but...

It turns out he was a better man than I thought, and he left me a future, so I am grateful to him. I feel bad that I can't... even remember what kind of a person he was, besides small details.

What kind of details?

Like he gave me a bird for a present, I really liked it.

And uh... I remember a little about the way he used to talk, but that's because I have a letter from him. When I read it I can hear his voice.

[A bird... he can't help but smile at that. His Master used to like birds as well. Blue birds and white flowers -- the same ones that returned when the humans left.]

Was it a nice letter?

It was really emotional. I think he wrote it before he died... maybe he knew.

**he really meant it when he said he trusted you, huh?**

[He paused, still wondering if this was the right answer or if he was being tested, but he eventually answers:]

Then... I'd like to read it.

**Why would he psych you out like that, bro~ Kaito's not like that. Although he does look a little nervous, since this is the first time he's showed anybody.**

All right. **Kaito dug around in his coat - he was keeping it on his person the whole time? Soon, he finds it and hands over the envelope.**

[KAITO takes the letter as carefully as he can and reads it. As he's reading, he can't help but hear the letter in his own Master's voice. The way it was written and the way some things were phrased... he could understand why Kaito said it was emotional. He was starting to feel as if he were the recipient. The fact that they both had the same names didn't help, either.

When he gives back the letter, he has a strained smile. He's been reminiscing quite a bit in the past hour.]

**He could see that KAITO himself had gotten emotional when reading it. He didn't really expect it to be powerful for someone other than himself, so he was giving him a questioning look while he took back the letter.**

It's all right. I guess you can kind of understand where I'm coming from, now.

**He seems more empathetic than expected, but Kaito doesn't want to jump to conclusions**

Yes... it's more understandable.

[He pauses, staring at the letter in Kaito's hands and looking back up at the picture. Kaito probably noticed how he reacted to both. Maybe it wasn't worth trying to hide it. He leans his head onto the armrest.]

It reminds me of my previous Master. The one I had before -- everything.

Really? My father does?

**This is unexpected, but it does explain why he was acting the way he was... sort of.**

[He nodded, still not bothering to lift his head. He wasn't even looking at Kaito; he was focused on something past the man. Or maybe just focusing on his past.]

He looks like the man in the photo. And the way the letter is written reminds me of the way he spoke.

If we'd spoken one last time, I wonder what he would have said...? Maybe he would've said something similar.

He even looks like him? **he speaks quietly, then falls silent. This is too many lookalikes to be a coincidence, isn't it?**

Mmmm. The hair and the eyes are the same.

**Kaito continued to stare into the photo, digging at the memories of his dad as he held the letter in his hands. KAITO had said that they looked alike, even spoke alike. If KAITO had been a human, Kaito might have shrugged it off as wishful thinking and sentimentality. But KAITO's memories could not have been dulled like that. It wasn't possible for his judgment to be clouded in this area, so ... why? Kaito sighed.**

Little Kaito looks like me, I look like you, and now my father is just like your master... why are there so many lookalikes?
