**So, Kaito, KAITO and Mekaito have been traveling for a short while now. Mekaito is still playing the radio because I guess it has an infinite life cheat or something and trailing behind the others, waiting for commands and giving the occasional input. Kaito is roaming about, staring at all of the pretty flowers and random wildlife with amazement. It's overwhelming compared to the bleakness of his hometown.**

I guess it can be. [Not really for KAITO, since composing songs was out of his range of programming. It was one thing he never had to concern himself with.] My master used to get frustrated sometimes when he was stuck.

You can just copy songs, for now. The one before, remember? [He sings the first (easy) half of the song, slowly, so that Mekaito can hear the notes clearly.]

[He nods.]

Yes, you did! That was really good for your first time.

[well, computer powered memories are pretty good, vocaloid or not. So he can do with intellect what others would do with intuiton.]

Yes, really! [He ruffles Mekaito's hair.] You were built really well. Maybe your master would like to hear your sing, too.

**he smiles a bit at the hair ruffle and KAITO's enthusiasm**

I could practice. I could show Master when he's done.... studying.

[deteriorated]

I'm sure he'll like it.

[Which reminds him:] Do you know why he's studying?

No. He didn't tell me.

[deteriorated]

Hmm... he didn't tell me, either. [And if there were any hints, KAITO obviously missed them. He looked down at Mekaito.]

Have you been with him long?

[abovethewall]

... Before we met KAITO ... umm ...

[Mekaito does some counting. There was a large gap of time in between when Kaito sent him over the wall, and then he came back and he found KAITO]

... maybe two weeks or more.

[He's surprised.] That's not very long.

It isn't?

I was only with the first master for about two days.

[deteriorated]

The first...? [Ah, right, he was created by the human Kaito's father.] Oh.

[And then, curiosity:] What was he like? Your first master.

[abovethewall]

He taught me a lot of things. I had to listen to him very carefully. He was fast and in a hurry. And then when he was done teaching me, I went to sleep for a long time.

[That must've been when--] Were you scared?

[abovethewall]

No.... he was fast, but he was nice. Like today's Master.

[deteriorated]

...that's good. I'm glad he was nice to you.

[abovethewall]

Why wouldn't he? He was my creator.

[deteriorated]

That's true. You look like his son - your master - too. I'm sure he did it on purpose.

[abovethewall]

But you look like us too.

[deteriorated]

That's true... [It's not like he never noticed the resemblance. Even their names were similar. It really stunned him, at first.]

But I wasn't created by the same person. I was made by a company, so that other users could pay to use me.

Oh.

So KAITO had lots of Masters....

In a way. I was with my last master the longest, though.

Hmmm.

What was KAITO's master like?

[deteriorated]

He was very kind and gentle to me. He didn't treat me like a 'product' -- he treated me like I was human. I really enjoyed being with him... I always did.

[He smiles, remembering:] He gave me some ice-cream, one day. I loved it. It used to be my favorite food. He ate a lot of ice-cream too, every day.
