**After the library of doom made Kaito cough his lungs out, our Kaito Team has decided to go back to the city behind the wall. Kaito's illness has gotten much worse due to his weakened immune system and sleeping outside all the time. But now, here they are. He finds himself staring up at the wall with mixed emotions of relief and dread. How in the hell are they going to sneak in?**

[Ah hah, Mekaito's gesture. KAITO's up and walks towards the room. He pointedly avoids looking at the picture nearby, focusing only on Mekaito instead.]

We should check, just in case. [He peeks his head into the room.]

**by now, he has noticed all the talking and peeking. Hooray, Kaito's not completely clueless after all**

Oh, hey... **koff** Morning.

[deteriorated]

[...he's still coughing, but KAITO tries to offer a kind greeting anyway.]

Good morning.

**it doesn't sound quite as bad as it did though! And not as frequent either. I took syrup ok**

Hey, maybe you could help me again? I was a little nervous....

[It's still a cough. B| He glances at Mekaito before walking over to where Kaito was.]

What is it?

Err.... well....

... I guess nothing specifically, but just.

Stop me if it looks like I'm going to do something really wrong. You'd know, right?

**Just.

Keeping his hands on his head.**

[A pause before he finally says,]

All right, I'll try.

**So with KAITO's aide, and Mekaito.... uh. Being supportive! Kaito is able to learn some more about technology that doesn't make much sense when you're only reading it in a book. Working together he comes to understand a lot - and he doesn't even destroy Mekaito's brain! Hooray!**

[KAITO's happy to help, trying as well as he can to explain some of the basic things. He hadn't used the computer very often in his time, but he knew a little and it was fun to go over things like this. It was, after all, the machine he was 'born' from.]

**Kaito's having fun too - he likes to learn things, and he feels like he's accomplishing some of the baby steps needed to understand and assist KAITO and Little Kaito. Anyway, playing around on the computer isn't as scary as learning and testing repair skills, though ultimately he would like to know that as well. He's also feeling grateful to his dad for leaving these tools behind, and wondering if he would be proud of him for learning so much**

[At some point, KAITO can't help but ask:]

...is this because of us?

Mm?

**Kaito looked up at KAITO, but wasn't able to read his expression. He glanced back down at the keyboard, and after a brief moment of thought, nodded. It's definitely a large part of it.**

I want to be more useful to you and little Kaito. And I think that my father would want me to know this.

[deteriorated]

[...Ah, the father again. He'd been trying to keep his mind off of that. The thought for a moment before nodding.]

If you want, I can teach a little bit about my program. I don't know if it's similar to little Kaito's, but we can try...

I'd like that, so yes, let's try it.

**he'd never tried to make up a song using a computer, but KAITO's programming is obviously important no matter what it's like. However, he's not sure how to access KAITO's program. It's obviously a part of him, but is it something that comes with the computer? His book had said something about a "CD ROM", for some "software"...**

Is the program on this computer, or do I have to install it?

[Oh, Kaito, what a good learner. It was a good question, but not that necessary.]

I can connect to it like last time. Wirelessly. [He's already watching the monitor.] I might have to install the interface, but it should be all right.

**One of the books had mentioned that too, although when KAITO had first done it, Kaito had no idea what was going on, and it seemed absurd like magic. Now that he mentions it, though, it makes sense. He looks between KAITO and the screen, leaning in closer to see what would happen.**

[Soon enough, a number of text began to scroll down the screen. The program was installing; its progress noted as it did. Sounds, interface, everything. It didn't take too long, and soon enough he was finished.

He blinked and looked at Kaito.]

It installed. Can you access it?

**Kaito was looking between KAITO and the screen with interest, since this was only the second time he'd seen the computer used wirelessly. He turned to the keyboard and typed - C : / V O C A L O I D enter.

Dear god is he a slow typist.**

Here goes.

**He blinked as he saw what appeared to be a piano at the side of the screen, lines corresponding with the keys. Oh, was this supposed to be like sheet music? He took it in for a moment.**

[KAITO points to the various areas of the screen, describing them and how they work. He mentions the different ways you can create the sounds, using a mouse or by typing. Different pitches and clarity can also be adjusted, along with ways to make the notes longer or shorter.

It's pretty extensive and quite possibly overwhelming. Good luck, Kaito.]

But I don't know what to write.

I'm not sure either. [He tries to think about it. What did his master write about?] Anything... perhaps. Something from your life?

... A-anyway, it's better to sort out the melody first.

[Nods and just watches. This was all the master's jobs -- he's kinda interested to see what Kaito will do.]

**he took a moment to think. He was doing this for KAITO, so... the song should be like KAITO, right? Luckily, Kaito was not completely lost here. He had studied music in school, and knew how to read it.

Tentatively, he began to play with notes. KAITO would sing whatever he put down - Kaito wondered if it was weird, just singing at random like this. But eventually, it allowed him to get a grip on the program. He erased everything that he'd done so far. They were merely experiments. KAITO had a wide range, as expected... but how could he use it? He had an idea now. A bit of one anyway.**

Thanks for putting up with me. I think I can start one for real now...
