[IC] [Old Radio/Waiting in Earth Crossover]
**After the library of doom made Kaito cough his lungs out, our Kaito Team has decided to go back to the city behind the wall. Kaito's illness has gotten much worse due to his weakened immune system and sleeping outside all the time. But now, here they are. He finds himself staring up at the wall with mixed emotions of relief and dread. How in the hell are they going to sneak in?**

So, this is what happened. The humans went into hiding, away from their past. All this time, this is where they were.
He wondered if any Vocaloids found cities like this and tried to enter. Were they let in? Were they killed? What if wasteful technology like themselves were reminders of what the humans did wrong? Was that why technology wasn't allowed in Kaito's home?
It worried him. He looked over at Mekaito -- the one hint of past technology that was born in that city. Then he looked at Kaito -- the man who needed some sort of medical attention. His condition was only getting worse.
They really had no choice.]
How did you leave? [he asked the human.] Can we go in the same way?

I think it would work, but...
**he turned to the little Kaito.**
... Check to see if there's anyone around first.

Well, it made the human happy. Seeing him happy made KAITO happy as well. He took his (self) designated spot on the floor, in front of the couch, and easily fell asleep.]
[Come morning, he was the first to wake up. Mekaito was still neatly curled under his coat and Kaito was snoozing away in his room. Not wanting to disturb the two, he quietly got up and stretched. Ah, it was a good rest; he had to admit, even he had to shut down his processors every once in a while. (More than he used to, but he wasn't quite ready to admit that part so eagerly.) He searched for his muffler before he could start his day.
That's when he saw her. Long, pink hair and the familiar face... she looked just like another Vocaloid he knew, long ago. Maybe she really was another Vocaloid? Was she hiding amongst humans? Did someone bring her here to blend in?
It was impossible, he knew it was, but if Len was still alive, then maybe--!
The next thing he knew, without even thinking, he was out the door and reaching for her. His body and his voice moving faster than he could process.]
Luka, [he called out.] Luka!

Excuse me? [She said, turning around. Her eyes widened in surprised as she recognized the man in front of her.]
Kaito?
no subject
It's me. [He suddenly felt 'breathless'. He didn't know what to say.]
I'm glad you're [alive] safe.
no subject
Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?
Wait, what about you? Where have you been? The whole town was on the lookout for you. What happened?
no subject
[He didn't understand what she was talking about. Why would the town look for him if they didn't even know who he was?
And then it hit him like a ton of bricks.]
O-oh. [She thought he was that Kaito. The one that actually belonged here. Without his signature coat and scarf, he probably didn't seem too much different from the human. He'd gone and done a stupid thing without thinking, and now he was risking his master's life.]
I was... around. [Act like Kaito, he kept thinking. Act like a human. What Would Kaito Do?] The area. Around the area.

Don't tell me you're hiding things, too...

So instead, he was sitting on the couch and staring up at the photo near the secret room. He just couldn't pry his eyes away from it when he got like this.]

... Hey. Are you looking at this?

**Kaito hadn't paid attention to the pictures in his house for years. The one by the door was the only one he'd really kept hanging - he didn't remember the people in the photos, they'd been dead for so long. He had always felt detached from the images. But ever since his father gave him Mekaito and the radio, he'd been thinking about him more and more. Maybe this time, it would be different - though he was primarily doing it for KAITO, who apparently liked to look at pictures**
I've got a photo album around here somewhere...!
